So I am starting a new PPE painting instead of working on poetry illustrations because that is what I felt like doing. If I’m not sick of PPE paintings, then why stop? Below is the image I’m going to be working from. Today I gridded the canvas and got it ready for drawing. Drawing on the grid, outlining the pencil lines with acrylic pen, and getting the solid background in is my least favorite part of the process. I’ll try and get it all over with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I have done some writing this week, but nothing really worth sharing. I think I exhausted my inspiration for now and need a break to allow new ideas to stew and form.

As for my New Year’s resolutions I am working hard on them. I can’t say I have formed habits yet, every day is still a struggle, but I’m getting there. Still doing 20 minutes of strenuous exercise six days a week (running or the elliptical 4 times and strength training twice), still working on overcoming panic disorder by incorporating daily coping strategies, still eating one meal a day and trying to reduce takeout as much as possible, still sticking to my 1500 calorie a day goal and incorporating nutritious foods into my daily meal, still trying to reduce spending as much as I realistically can, and still trying to incorporate relaxation time each day (very difficult for me).

My wedding dress nearly fits me now. I can zip it up almost all the way. By May 19th I should be fitting it comfortably.
