So today I finished off the last of the trash bags in my painting. I’m fairly happy with how they turned out. They look like trash bags so that’s what’s important. Overall I’m pleased with this painting so far, I think it’s going to look good when I finally get it done on Thursday. Going to finish off the furnace tomorrow and Thursday morning and then it will all be done! After this I am going to take a break from big paintings for a week or so and do small illustrations for my recent poetry. Need to switch back and forth a bit so I don’t become too burned out with one thing.

What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

Three objects I couldn’t live without are phone, paint, and my pen. I need my phone because I need contact with the outside world, I need paint because I feel lost without visual art, and I need my pen because poetry brings me much needed therapy and I always write it out in my journal with a pen first (I type it up later after I finish).

This weekend and Monday I fell off of the wagon a bit working on habit building for my New Year’s Resolutions. The good thing is I have formed at least some partially complete neural pathways because it was very easy to pick myself up on Tuesday and start again. I got back into the rythym of my routine without much resistance. I can’t be perfect, some days I am going to fail, but as long as I start again as soon as I am able, I won’t lose footing.
