So I finished this illustration and I’ve started a new one of my mother. We’ll see if that turns out. This illustration below is going to be the cover of my book. Crows are often featured in my poetry so it seems fitting.
So far I have 95 poems and 8 illustrations. Goal is 150 poems and 50 illustrations. So I’m coming along. I started writing poetry in February and started the illustrations in late July. They take much longer to complete than a poem. I have been doing around 2 a week, but not every one turns out so I average about 1 per week that I can use for the book. In comparison I write about 3 poems a week and usually 2 of those are good enough for my book.
In October I am going to take a break from poetry writing and focus solely on art for Inktober. Try my hardest to get an illustration done a day. Hopefully I can knock out at least 15 for my book in one month (I’m going by the rule that about every other illustration works out).

What could you do more of?
I’ll list what I could do more of this week. I could eat a bit healthier and not snack as much. Over the weekend my willpower sort of fades away and I tend to overeat. So this week and coming weekend I could do more healthy eating.
It’s officially fall now! I put out pumpkins and all my decorations for it. I don’t decorate for Halloween because I like to leave my fall decor up until Thanksgiving so it needs to be a more general fall theme. So pumpkins and leaves. I have a fall leaf garland hanging over my window, some pumpkins on the table, and a table runner with leaves on it. On the door I have a wreath with little pumpkins and leaves intertwined and on the steps I have more pumpkins. So I’m all decked out for the rest of the season!
