Not my favorite drawing. I don’t think I’ll include it in the book but I might try painting it again sometime next week and see it comes out any better. If you don’t succeed at first, try try again as they say.

Name the professional athletes you respect the most and why.
I don’t know any athletes besides ones who got into trouble and had worldwide media coverage like Tonya Harding, Lance Armstrong, Oscar Pistorius, or OJ Simpson. I simply do not watch sports or follow sports. When I was a kid I used to watch the Olympics for gymnastics and ice skating, but I can’t remember any of the athlete’s names. Tonya Harding was a big deal here because she used to practice at the ice rink in Lloyd Center which is in NE Portland (a mall near me that is in its final dying throws).
Here is yesterday’s habit formation diary:
Day 5 of 60 (Sept 6) –
Morning Routine – Had a hard time getting going today but managed to get my chores done and run 5 miles and do mindfulness while I ran. Had a fairly healthy breakfast and some walnuts as a snack.
Mid-day Routine – Did not have a healthy lunch, but I did manage to get a painting done. Worked on art a bit later in the day instead of during the early morning. Did not have to go on a walk because I did mindfulness while running.
Evening Routine – Made a healthy dinner and watched tv for a bit to relax. I didn’t meditate or read and I snacked on unhealthy food after dinner. So only part of my evening routine was accomplished. For the most part I achieved my core values, but didn’t quite complete them entirely. Core values #3 (kindness and self compassion), core values #4 (following a routine), and core value #2 (taking care of my body and mind) were only partially achieved. Better than nothing, though. Can’t be perfect every single day. I could have eaten a little healthier at lunch and not snacked on unhealthy food after dinner, but I didn’t binge or have sweets. I even bought ice cream for my husband and didn’t buy any for myself, though I was tempted.
Very minor hip pain today, but still have a swollen leg.
