Today I finished most of the upper torso of the right figure and I will complete it entirely tomorrow (it needs a lot of tweaking as I am not very happy with it right now). Next I’ll do the head, backpack, and arm and that will be an entire figure completed (approximately two more days of working). After I finish the right figure, I will work on the little boy being held between the two men. That will take 2 days because his pants are going to be somewhat complex so I’ll divide the work up into the upper and lower body on seperate days. The man on the Left will take 3-4 days depending on how long I can get myself to work at one time. There are areas in the background that need going over as well to make it truly solid.
I have been contemplating my plan to get back into drawing. After this painting I think I will be ready. It’s one of my New Year’s resolutions, so I would like to get onto it at some point soon. I really need to be in the right frame of mind for re-learning a skill though and that hasn’t happened yet. It’s hard to start out so rough and be bad at something for a long while. Improvement comes slowly and I am impatient for it to happen and often give up when it doesn’t happen soon enough for my limited patience.
Yesterday I added 10 minutes to my strength training routine. Instead of a ten minute Apple Fitness video with 10 pound weights, I did a 20 minute video (total body workout) and afterwards I did my crunches and leg lifts which took 13 minutes. Unfortunately I was really worn out afterwards so I didn’t go on the elliptical. My heart rate was up during the workout video though, so hopefully that counts as somewhat aerobic. I just didn’t have it in me to do anything more. I’ve re-adjusted my goal of doing aerobic exercise to five days this week and on the two strength training days I am just going to do the 30 minute workout. Maybe as I get in better shape, I’ll have energy leftover to do a quick run on top of the strength training.
Today I went on a 2 mile run, so a short workout, but it got my heart going for 20 minutes which is what I’m looking for as a potential daily combatant against anxiety. Tomorrow I do more strength training (and maybe a short run afterwards if I’m up for it). Saturday I will go on 4 mile run and on Sunday a 2 mile run. Friday I will use the elliptical (because it’s supposed to be snowy and icy). Monday I did a 2 mile run so that was my first exercise session of the week.
Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.
My most ideal day from beginning to end is one where I don’t have underlaying anxiety all day long or any panic attacks. A day where I can feel content to just be. That’s all I ask of an ideal day.
