
Today I worked more on the mask of the figure. I’m finding it hard to work for an extended period of time, so I’m satisfying myself with a small amount of progress daily. It will take quite a while to finish the picture, but if I work on it a little bit most days, it will get finished eventually and that’s the main goal accomplished.
Today was the second day in a row I’ve been running again. It feels really good to do it, although I feel the extra weight on my joints. I bought a new pair of running shoes because the ones I have weren’t cushioning me from the pavement anymore. It would be nice if running shoes lasted a bit longer, but jogging primarily on cement causes me to go through them quickly.
I lost another pound since Sunday. The first 10 pounds go away pretty quickly for me when I’m losing weight, but after that it’s a lot slower and harder. So far I’ve lost 4 pounds.
What could you do differently?
I’m doing a lot of work on myself this year for my New Year’s Resolutions. Firstly I’m trying to learn how to relax because I really struggle to just enjoy myself so that’s something I’m working on doing differently. Secondly I’m trying to be more healthy in what I eat and avoid sugar because it has a big impact on my mental health. Thirdly I’m trying to introduce strength training to my fitness routine to help with bone and muscle health because I can run pretty easily, but I really struggle to do indoor exercise. Lastly I am trying to get better at drawing and painting (although this might be impeded when I get a job). Additionally I would like to introduce meditation again because it has a positive impact on my anxiety levels (first I’m going to work on improving food and fitness routines though and get those habits well established).
