Today’s prompt was “dagger”.

Yesterday we went to the art store and I got a massive piece of watercolor paper to use for a large frame I have. Because I didn’t have a board big enough to tape it to, I bought a large piece of thick cardboard to attach the paper to for painting. That will be my November project. This month and next I’m sticking to iPad drawings.

I managed to tackle the upstairs while cleaning yesterday. It smelled like chemicals for a few hours but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’d define it as a satisfying smell. It definitely feels good to have a tidy bedroom again.

I didn’t jog today but I always take a day off after a long run. It’s good to rest up. My aim right now is to run four days a week and around 21 miles in total. This week I achieved that.

We cooked dinner last night and had butternut squash soup with garlic bread. I had to break the bread up into tiny little pieces so I could chew it safely. My crown is still there, as is the tooth, but it is very loose. When you are a kid loose teeth are exciting, when you are 41 years old it just means a lot of money and dental work.

Not many people have put up Halloween displays yet. Granted it is just the first day of fall. I’m looking forward to seeing decorations on my walk with Margot each day. Christmas and Halloween are the best for looking at people’s houses. I’ll be nosy and take photos of what I see and post them here.

This year we are staying home and handing out candy to the very few children that come to our house. I always buy a big bowl of candy for them and hardly anyone ever shows up. Last year my husband came back from New Zealand on Halloween so most of the evening was spent at the airport waiting for his plane to come in. I didn’t get a chance to do anything spooky. We did go to a haunted house earlier in the month but that was about it.

Today is one week since I set my intentions for the rest of September and for October. I think it’s been a pretty successful week. Despite the tooth setback, things went pretty well. This next week I’ll try a lot harder to cook at home. I might have to anyway if I end up on soft foods only in which case I’ll be eating a lot of creamy soup and yogurt. Maybe I’ll get some sugar-free Jello. I really hope my surgery is soon because I want to be healed enough to eat by the time we go to Chicago.

Day 7 no sugar

Day 7 limited ultra-processed food

Day 7 painting or drawing every day

Day 2 cooking at home

Miles run this week: 21

Weight 120.8 lb.
