So I am several days ahead for Inktober. I only have two drawings left to reach the coveted 31, so tomorrow I am going to get up extra early and finish both those drawings so I can just take a break from art for the remaining days of the month and do a declutter and deep clean of my art studio.

Here’s today’s Inktober drawing:

Describe a family member.

My Uncle Bruce is the father I didn’t have. Well, I had a father, but there isn’t much good you can say of him. Bruce has always been there for me. He remembered all my birthdays and gave me such meaningful, heartfelt presents. My father never gave me anything. My Uncle helped my husband and I when we were just getting on our feet and were really struggling to make ends meet. If we couldn’t make rent, my uncle would help. If we couldn’t get dental work done (of which I have needed a lot over the years), my uncle would help. Whatever we couldn’t afford, my uncle was there to offer assistance. Always. Without fail. No strings attached, no guilt trip, just love abiding and without judgment. I adore him and hope that I can be there for him in his elder years as much as he was there for me when I was first starting out on my own. If he ever needs a place to be, I don’t want him to go to a nursing home, I want him to live with us and my husband has agreed with me on this. He deserves every comfort we can afford to give him for all he has done for us.

I love being ahead of schedule and feeling the relaxation afterwards lol I hope you have a chill yet productive rest of the month (once you get the final drawings done). Awesome artwork as usual!

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment. I appreciate it. I like to be a few drawings ahead in case one drawing doesn’t work out. I’ve had a few duds this month that I wasn’t able to share so it’s been good I’ve always stayed a few days ahead so I haven’t had a day where there hasn’t been anything I can share.
