The Art & Poetry of Mary Coleman

I’m really starting to enjoy art again. Truly enjoy it. I spent four solid hours this morning working on the illustration below. Didn’t even take a single break. It’s been so long since I really felt lost in the process of art making and recently that’s been happening a lot which is such a joy to me. This isn’t my favorite of the illustrations I’ve done so far, but it’s not terrible. It’s worthy of putting into my book.

My favorite word is flibbertigibbet which is a scattered brained person. I’m not sure where I first heard it said, probably read it as opposed to heard it, but I love the sound when I say it out loud. It’s just such a whimsical word.
