Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.
A decision I made in the past that helped me grow was the decision to overcome my temper. I used to have an explosive temper and was very volatile. If I hadn’t addressed it around 20 years ago when I married my husband, I would not currently be married. I just knew my husband wasn’t going to put up with it early on in our marriage and so I decided to find ways to channel my emotions that were healthier. Now I rarely get angry. I can get very frustrated, sad, anxious, and I can get irritated, but I haven’t lost my temper in a very, very long time. People who have met me in recent years find it hard to believe I was ever capable of violence given I’m so soft spoken and quiet these days.
I managed to get out there and run 3 miles today. Initially I only planned to run 2, but I kept going and did an extra mile because I was feeling pretty good. Tomorrow I do 3 with my friend and we are going to run up to Mt. Tabor. Then on Saturday we have the half marathon. I think I’m ready for it. Last weekend we did 10 miles so if I can run 10, I can run 13 and I kept up with running throughout this week so I feel pretty fit.
