Today I did my first drawing and I titled it “because we must” based on the daily poem I wrote today (but I am keeping that one private). It’s a little less abstract than I had hoped, figures crept in, but it’s still a lot looser than I’m accustomed to. I don’t like it very much but this is the beginning. If I keep this up every day I should get better over time. It’s hard to suck at something at first, you want very badly to be good, but that’s not how gradual improvement works.

I did 33 minutes of strength training today and I upped the weights to 15 pounds for the first 13 minutes of the 20 minute workout video I did. The last 7 minutes I went back to 10 pound weights because I couldn’t lift the heavier ones anymore, my arms were too sore. Hopefully by the end of next week I’ll be able to do the entire video with 15 pound weights. 13 minutes of the 33 total are spent doing crunches and leg lifts which don’t require weights.

What bores you?

Doing the grid drawing to transfer the initial sketch onto a canvas. It’s torture. I hate doing it so much. Also cleaning the house is really boring and I get a cleaner to come and do it for me now. I do keep the house pretty tidy between cleanings however. If I had a messy house my brain would be a bigger mess than it already is.
