Today I worked on the head and finished the painting. I also tweaked the sweatshirt a little bit and the hand. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. It will go in the March show at Splendorporium along with the painting I did last month.

Now that I’m finished with this painting I am going to start drawing. My plan is to continue to write a poem each day and do drawings to go along with them. These will be abstract pieces as that is what I am going to try to get better at. Just working from my head and freeing myself up a bit. The PPE paintings are very tight and controlled and in general my style is pretty representational. I’m going to attempt to get away from that and loosen up.

I ran 4 miles with my friend today. It was a bit of a slog because I didn’t feel like doing it at first, but we sped up as we went along. The overall pace was 10’02” which isn’t bad for a longer run.

Next week we need to start increasing the miles we are doing and begin training for the half marathon in mid April. Instead of 2 mile runs most days, I’ll do 3 mile runs and on the long run we’ll increase by a mile each week, so the first one should be 5 miles. I hope to get a 10 mile run in the week before the race as that is the most I run before a half marathon.

What is your favorite drink?

My favorite cocktail is a Moscow Mule. I rarely have alcohol but when I do order something, it’s usually that. For non alcoholic drinks my favorite is probably cinnamon tea. I have a cup every day.
