I worked on the left arm today and I don’t like it as much as the right arm but it’s okay. The glove still bugs me a bit but I need to let it go and move on. I’ve been working over the same areas for days. Tomorrow I am going to tackle the torso.
I had a good time in Chicago (see the pictures below). We left early Friday morning and arrived at the hotel at about 4pm. There was enough time to take a walk around and snap a few photos of the city and then we just ordered dinner from the hotel bar and rested in the room for the rest of the night.
Saturday we went to the Art Institute of Chicago and it was amazing. I saw some really great artwork there. Before we went, we got lunch at Mr. Beef which is the restaurant that inspired The Bear. It was phenomenal. I got a combination beef and sausage sandwich with sweet peppers. For dinner we went to a Mexican place and I got fish tacos which were pretty good.
Sunday we visited The Field Museum and saw a bunch of dinosaur skeletons. They had a full T-Rex named Sue that was really neat. Afterwards we went to lunch and had Chicago style hot dogs. For dinner we went to a deep dish pizza restaurant.
Monday we headed back after having brunch at a little diner and while I was on the plane I finished The Land of Lost Things. Definitely not as good as The Book of Lost Things, but not a bad read. I had a bit of trouble getting into it and finishing it because I wasn’t liking it as much as its predecessor. Today I picked up a Roald Dahl short story collection and I’m taking it to the beach with me tomorrow.
Last night I saw Ghostbusters in the theatre. I went with a friend who had invited a bunch of other people I didn’t know. It wasn’t too stressful because you don’t have to talk during a movie so my social anxiety was okay. I just munched on popcorn and focussed on the screen.
Halloween is today. I am wearing my faire dress and am going to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. We are getting takeaways and watching a scary movie. Michael has work tomorrow though so we won’t stay up too late.
