My painting is coming along. Today I finished outlining the pencil lines and doing the background. It took a lot of paint to get it solid because the piece is 19 x 25” which is large by my standards. If I work every day for the next five days I should have this painting done by Thursday. Friday I need to clean the house so I won’t do art on that day.
Today I looked at Dexter Dalwood, an artist based out of England. His work has a bit of a collage-look to it. The paintings are piecemeal and the different elements look pasted together even though it’s just one big work. I really like play of light in the sky in The Deluge. It reminds me of El Greco. His skies were very dramatic and moody and he had a really neat way of showing light coming through the clouds.

I brought home all my paintings from the last show (I only sold one). Now I can re-use the frames and two of the works are going to be Christmas gifts. I’ll have to get another large piece of watercolor paper for the second 18×24 frame that I now have back. It’s annoying because I do have 18×24 inch canvas pad pages, but the matte is just slightly bigger than 18×24 by about an sixteenth of an inch. So I have to make work 19×25 inches to fit it properly.
Today I ran 10 miles. I managed a 10’20” pace which isn’t shabby. Because I was with a friend for most of it I did not listen to a book. About halfway I took a Gu Gel and that kept me going for the second five miles.
