


I finished my painting today. Overall I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Though I plan to continue on with the PPE series I am looking forward to a break from it. My next project is Inktober and I will do a digital drawing every day until the end of October. I will use the rest of September to reacquaint myself with Procreate and drawing in general and use prompts from last Inktober for a daily work. For the past few paintings I have been using a grid, so I haven’t done free-hand drawing in awhile and am pretty rusty. Hopefully the prompts will help the idea juices flow.
I have a loose crown. Tomorrow I booked in an appointment with the dentist to get it looked at. I hope it isn’t too expensive to fix. It doesn’t hurt, so I don’t think it’s decaying and it’s only been loose for a day or so. Usually to get any dental procedure done I need oral sedation because I am afraid of needles and getting a shot in my mouth makes me exceptionally anxious without a pill to ease the fear.
So far I have made it three days into my dietary change of not eating sugar and limiting ultra-processed foods. I have lost about .2 pounds since yesterday. Not a huge loss, but I did have restaurant food for dinner (even though it only caused me to go 200 over my calorie limit). My goal for the rest of the week is to cook at home. I’ll add that to the September goals. Cook at home every night for the rest of September.
I didn’t run today but my aim is to run 4 days a week (21 miles total) and I can still meet that goal for the week. Yesterday I bought new shoes because I was starting to feel the pavement on my knees in the old ones. That’s part of the reason I didn’t go out today, I want to wait for my new shoes to come.
I miss reading physical books so I am going to pick up The Land of Lost Things by John Connolly today. It was started months ago but I have a good memory for books and picking them up even years later I remember the plot exactly as though I read it yesterday. It’s part of the reason I can read so many books at once and not lose track of the different stories (I can watch dozens of different TV shows and switch between those easily too). My memory for books is excellent, my memory for other things that might be more useful in life is not so great.
Tomorrow I need to clean the house. It’s always hard getting that started but it’s been nearly 2 weeks since I last did the downstairs and 3 weeks since I did the upstairs. I like living in a tidy house, dirty houses stress me out. My studio is pretty cluttered and messy but that’s the only area of the house that is like that and it’s mostly because I have too many things to fit in it neatly. Really I should do a clear out of it and get it looking clean again. It’s such a huge undertaking though and as long as I keep the rest of the house fairly orderly, then the studio doesn’t bug me so much.
