I’m actually quite excited about my new painting series. It feels good to have direction again and something I want to do. I’m painting people in PPE during various outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics. Right now I’m focusing on a nurse during a Marburg outbreak in South Africa in 1975.
I ran 6 miles today. After I do my 10 mile run tomorrow it will have been 22 miles for the week which is where I want to be. I was going to start resistance training but I injured myself at the race last week and needed to wait until the bruising on my knees got better and now it’s too close to the next race to begin. That is in case I get really sore from doing weights for the first time and can’t run for awhile afterward.
I am nearly done with Shift by Hugh Howey and I started The Fall of Hyperion which is the sequel to Hyperion. Tomorrow I should finish the former during my long run and I still have 19 hours left on the latter. I guess that means I am reading science fiction right now and that’s the genre I settled on after finishing a bunch of of nonfiction books previously. It seems I pick a type of book, read a ton of that genre, and then get tired of it and move onto another genre. Generally I read 2 or 3 books at the same time, switching between them so I don’t get bored.
